Search result keyword replacement

I have noticed that the %result_number% keyword is not being replaced correctly when used in the Default Format bodycopy of a Search Page asset in version 3.8.4.


If the bodycopy content is of the form:



<P><A href="%asset_href%">%result_number%. %asset_name%</A></P>



it produces output formatted as:



. Title A

. Title B

. Title C



instead of:


  1. Title A
  2. Title B
  3. Title C



    If I substitute the %asset_position% keyword instead, it works OK. Unforunately, given that I am retrieving multiple pages of search results, the %asset_position% keyword doesn't yield the result that I am looking for.



    We have recently upgraded from 3.8.2 to 3.8.4.



    Is anyone aware of any issues with the replacement of the keyword %result_number% in 3.8.4? If so, are there any work arounds available?
