Hi
Could you tell me how to restrict the Matrix search to ONLY search the metadata fields?

Currently it is also searching the page content.

Right click on search page -> Search Fields -> delete the current ones and create new one -> from "data source" chose "Asset Metadata Field" and save, attach field you want to do search on. Repeat for every field you want to search on.

No you can't.

Assets can be linked in more than one place, so one solution is to create a specific folder for searching. Link the searchable assets into that folder and point the search root there. Et Voila! A very clunky, time consuming and arduous search restriction.

This method could have another benefit by enforcing inheritance of permissions; paint layouts & metadata on those assets which you plan to search.
