I dont seem to be able to get a Search Page asset (which is under construction) to find under construction assets. I get No results unless I make all the assets Im searching for have a live status. Of course, I could change the "Search statuses" field to include them, but that means I'll need to remember to go in and change it back once the site goes live.
Under Construction asset listing pages will list under construction assets so why dont search pages behave the same way?

Hi Steve,
Asset listing page and Search page will behave a bit differently when getting assets as they have different way of getting the assets.
Only way to let the search page page look for the assets would be to allowing it to look for the status the asset is currently in. If you are too worried about having to change the status selection back to live when the Site goes live then perhaps you can clone the search page you currently have and change the settings on clone.
Or select LIVE and Under construction status on the current search page. When doing this make sure you select the effective permissions setting on search page, that way even though the Search page is looking for assets under construction it will still look for the proper permissions on the assets for the user performing the search. For example a public user will never be shown the asset that are under construction or are not live.
