How does the Site Network Asset actually work? The information on the manuals site is limited and I think I may be missing crucial parts of the setup. If anyones used this before or got documentation on this and wants to share, it would be greatly appreciated.

You place your site assets directly under it. Then you configure it with a primary URL.
The idea is then that when you visit one of the sites in the network, some redirects will happen to sync your session across all the other sites in the network. This keeps the user logged in and maintains data stored in the session, like shopping cart content.
