Hi everyone,
I've got a bunch of Single Calendar Event and Recurring Event assets, and an Event Search assets that searches both of them.
How do I get the results page to show all the results in date order?
On the Asset Sorting screen, I can set 'Sorting by Asset Attribute Value' to pick up 'Start Date' attribute for Single Calendar Events. And I can set the 'Sorting by Asset Keyword Value' to pick up 'instance_start_date' attribute for the instance of the Recurring Calendar Event.
But I can only pick one of those as my Default Sorting.
Is there a way to get all the events in the results list to be sorted by date, where the date is the start date for single calendar events, but the instance date for recurring calendar events?
Thanks!
Charlie.
I've found the answer!
Was looking for something totally different and came across this post:

Basically the answer is to use instance_start_datetime as the attribute to sort by, and Matrix will use that for Single Calendar event start dates as well as that instance of recurring events. Marvellous stuff.
C ;o)
PS - if anyone at Squiz reads this - can we please have some more search options added to the forum, to be able to search for combinations of words, words minus other words etc, its sometimes really hard to find the gold nuggets of info hidden in this forum! ;o)

I agree. Forum searching is REALLY bad. I think it must use the worst search on the planet. How about some Funnelback integration?!
