Strange behaviour of MM

Hi all,


I have strange situation with "News Item" and links to files (*doc, *pdf, etc.)

OK what's happened:

• I upload to server file (all files I put to /Media Folder/directory_for_sections - news, icons, etc.)
  
  This is this file
  
  
  
  Current URLs http://thor.wup-katowice.pl/__data/assets/pdf_file/0014/1184/form_zglosz_irlandia.pdf
  
  
  
  If I put in News Item link to this file it is look like this:
  
  http://thor.wup-katowice.pl/__data/assets/pdf_file/0014/1184/form_zglosz_irlandia.pdf
  
  
  
  But if I put this link in Standard Page it is look this:
  
  http://thor.wup-katowice.pl/__data/assets/pdf_file/0014/1184/form_zglosz_irlandia.pdf
  
  
  
  It is normal situation ?

  You tried both ./?a= and %globals_asset_url:999% and neither will expand the URL in a News Item?

News items are unable to expand ?a=xxx style links into their __data paths like pages do. They lack the bodycopy complexity of the other pages are are just for simple content.


But, paint layouts are able to help news items expand these links. See the following bug report for details and links to related forum posts:
