We've discovered a really frustrating feature here, whereby if you override your DNS for a Matrix site with the hosts file, the Java asset map thing fails to lookup when you click "show in asset map". This makes testing difficult.
Could not load children: permission exception while connecting to x (java.net.socketpermission x connect,resolve). The following actions could not be performed: connect, resolve.
Has anyone else had this problem and/or found a workaround in the past?
I have done overrides in the hosts file many many times. Have you made sure to restart your browser after you have done this? I know that I always had to or else I would get bad java errors.
Hmm, interesting. It happens reliably here whenever there's a hosts entry, and works again when you remove the entry and refresh.
Might be an issue with 4.0.4 in that case, I've just been living with it for the time being. Not sure there's much else I can do with it.
