I am fairly new to the Squiz Matrix and need some help. I DID look at google and the official manual is my third tab when I am configuring my squiz site.
Basically I have preview boxes on my homepage which should link to other pages. The preview boxes should have as a backgroundpicture the thumbnail picture of the other pages and have a link to the page + take a preview text from the other page I am linking to in it. I find it very difficult to establish that with the squiz matrix and do not know how to do it.
I hope that somebody could help me with this hopefully "little" problem.

You could use globals asset keywords to get those values, such as %globals_asset_thumbnail_url:123%, %globals_asset_name:123%, etc. But this would only be ideal if you didn't really want to change these.
Another option is to nest an asset listing. That asset listing could be set to only list 1 asset (the page you want to show), then you configure the type format with HTML that you want to display in your preview box. Then just nest that listing in your homepage. Using this method allows those preview boxes to update automatically when you add a new item to your root node.
