Twitter triggers throwing errors

Hi,


We have four triggers set up to automatically post to Twitter (for jobs, media releases and 2 other news sections).



Up until just recently they were working fine, but now they're throwing errors (see further below…).



All of our other triggers are still working.



The Twitter triggers seem to have stopped working since our IT section changed the proxy server setup for the division.



Despite all the errors it still says that we are 'connected' in the Authentication status field under client credentials on the Twitter triggers, but the posts aren't getting through.



My manager has added the IP of this new proxy server to the Proxy Config screen in Matrix (see the attached screenshot). This has made remote content work again, but it hasn't made any difference to the triggers.

I think that's because Update Twitter status trigger action doesn't support Matrix proxy. It always tries to contact twitter api directly.
So your previous environment doesn't have proxy at all, is it correct?



If that's the proxy problem, we should be able to fix it for you.

G'day – yes, that sounds like the problem. We had a new proxy set up here 2 weeks ago, and the Twitter trigger hasn't worked since.



The remote content feature wasn't working either, but after updating the proxy settings in Matrix, remote content started working, but Twitter didn't.



Can this be fixed as a bug, or would it be considered a feature request?

I filed a report for this issue. I think it's an enhancement. But we will need to build it anyway.

Once it's fixed, please contact Squiz Support for a patch.
