Two files with same asset ID

I’m a little confused.


We have an asset ID of 5745 on our intranet.

http://ourdomain/__data/assets/word_doc/5745/file-name.d



I’m guessing what happened was the .dot was uploaded in the past and perhaps later replaced with the .doc - as the contents in the .doc are more recent. I would have thought matrix wouldn’t let this happen though.



Any thoughts on this?

There was an old bug in Matrix where it would not rename a file on the filesystem when a new file was uploaded with a different name. Instead, both would remain. The easiest way to fix this is to delete this file and upload a new version.
