TYPE_3 linking problem

I'm having a problem with deleting a Javascript file I no longer need. I have removed all links to it, yet when I look at the linking screen for the file, dozens of TYPE_3 links are reported, the same links that I'm warned about breaking when I try to delete the JS file.

What could be causing Matrix to report on links that no longer exist, and how do I overcome this problem?

TYPE_3 links are links hidden from the asset map and menus and are normally special links like those inside content and those used by designs. What does the Linking screen say the file is being linked to?

A typical entry on the Current Linking screen is shown below, there's about 50 of them… Display Type is Linked Parents

110224 TYPE_3 24029 Designs Folder > New Design 20061206 > Designs > 3 Columns - Nested Right Col > Inside Page >

If you deleted the JS file from under a design, then these links would be referring to that and were probably just not removed by Matrix for whatever reason. Or if you haven't actually deleted the file yet, then Matrix should remove these when you delete the file.

Either way, if you are not using the JS file in your design any more, it is safe to ignore these links.
