Unable to Search in Matrix

Hi,


I just did a fresh install of 3.24.1. It seems search option does not work properly inside the system. It only finds asset if I type the assed id.



I must have missed something in the installation and would appreciate what I need to look at.

You may have not enabled search indexing in the Search Manager. If this is enabled, matrix should index the attributes of assets, but it will not index everything you have created in the system up until that point. For that you will have to re-index (see re-indexing tool). Additionally, when you start with a fresh install everything is weighted equally in matrix. You will have to set weights on attributes of assets that you feel are more relevant, this is optional though and generally you will find matrix returns the results you want anyway - but you may want to consider thinking about weighting in advance before the system grows.
