To you mean the Java asset map? The asset manager is the object that controls assets within the code (core/include/asset_manager.inc).
If you do mean the asset map… there are a few problems with refreshing that are being sorted out for the next release. Commits should refresh the asset map correctly once this has been completed.

3.3 doesnt have those changes. 3.3 is released internally but not on the web site.
3.4.0 RC1 will have these changes in them, as will 3.3.1 if we decide to go to the web site with that.
