Hi we’re running 3.6.4 (Oracle DB) and I was just wondering if it is very difficult to upgrade to 3.8.1 or is it simply a matter of un-taring the files and running steps 2 and 3 again?
Would anything else be required?
And also what are the advantages of upgrading to 3.8?
Will it fix the issue of internal table borders not showing in Simple Edit?

Thanks,

The instructions for upgrading from v3.6 to v3.8 are here:

Hi Sarah,
as described in this spec. http://matrix.squiz.net/developer/specifications/wysiwyg/visual-aid-plugin
it seems like that the hi-tec feature you are asking about isn’t implemented yet.
Thanks Daniel but I think that might be a different feature as I am not talking about displaying hidden table borders i.e. table borders set to 0. I am referring to tables with borders set to 1 or higher.
Currently in 3.6.4 the border displays on the front-end and in the admin interface, but not in SimpleEdit mode for some reason - making it very difficult for authors when adding new tables to see where the cells start and finish.
Also I know I can download the changelogs to view the individual bug fixes but I was more so wondering what is different in the major versions from 3.6.x to 3.8.x and why it would be recommended to upgrade.
Is there anything online for this?
Thanks
The changelogs in the download also contain a description of all the new features between each version. It's not just bug fixes listed. I'd recommend a download and a look.
