Hi,
I currently have a site setup on:
dev.mydomain.com
with obviously lots of internal links to various internal matrix pages and assets, inserted using the WYSIWYG editor. I'm using the dev subdomain as a staging area for the beta version of the site, then when all is cool, I'll go in a delete the dev.mydomain.com and replace it with www.domain.com in the URLs settings.
My question is: When I change the "URLs" setting for my site from dev to www, will my internal links added using the WYSIWYG editor remain valid? or do I need to update them manually?
Thanks for any thoughts on this. I'm really hoping for a ,hey don't worry, they'll still be valid, otherwise my whole staging area is a bit of a wash.
Cheers
Dale
PS I'll also have the situation of moving dev.domain1.com to www.domain2.com as well, it that has any impact. same situation, being used as a staging area inside Matrix, just using the URLs setting to do the change over.
The Magic 8-ball says: Yes.
In fact, you could continue to run both the dev.mydomain.com and www.mydomain.com URLs and Matrix will use the correct one based on which URL the user uses.
Excellent, thats a load off. Hehe one of those, oh god I didn't think of that til just know, type moments…100 pages into the site
cheers
