When at 2nd level of navigation, show parent name

I have, what I think is a standard subnav configuration, but can't figure it out using design tags. Here is what I want it to look like:

So, if I have the following structure:

Home

About CAA

  • History
  • Location

    Academics

And I am viewing the History page, I would like to have my left navigation show About CAA above all of the subnav items. It doesn't have to be a clickable link, just a title so that the user knows what section they are in.

Is there a way to do this?

Can you use javascript to target the parent list item?

Yeah, easily, but I wanted to see if I could do it with design tags.

Lineage design area, restricted to a particular level?

Using a lineage design area is it possible to set things up so that "About CAA" shows when you are on the About CAA page? I.e. not only when viewing its child pages?

Yes, I have this working using a lineage design area. Here is my settings for the design customization:

Ah. It seems suffix_with_current_link was the key.

Thanks.
