Hi there,
I have a couple of quick questions. are there any plans to allow the WYSIWYG editor to be configurable based on group permissions? rather than one setting fits all?
So for examples, administrators have the ability to have all buttons and WYSIWYG functions available, but someone with restircted access only has limited WYSIWYG functionality…
Also is it possible in the current version to restrict filetypes being uploaded? so if we did not want to allow flash files to be uploaded to media libraries etc? or is this something that I should add to the wish list?
Your first question is already in Matrix. Take a look at the "Preferences" screen for a user group – you can configure which WYSIWYG options are available to members of the group. The combinations are cumulative, so if a user is a member of two groups, then they will get the combined options of both groups.
The second option is something that needs to get added to the Feature Request list.
Good to see I am not the only one working on a saturday afternoon LOL
Excellent will loook into that…
and I suppose with restricting file types I could do it at an apache level, using mod_security (http://www.modsecurity.org/) and just add a rule to capture the upload process for the script…
I suppose you could – it would be something that will get added to Matrix in time though, I imagine.
