Anyone had any experience in setting up a Matrix RSS feed and applying an xslt stylesheet?
My guess is that this could be done using a linked CSS file? - does Matrix interpret a linked CSS file correctly if its contents are xslt?
I'd like to design a news page with RSS feeds for staff to subscribe to, using Departmental style rather than the standard RSS format which is often a bit off-putting.
I'm also looking for easy to use RSS readers that interpret XSLT correctly rather than applying their own styles - Enhanced Feed Preview is nice in Firefox but I'll need one for IE too.
Edit: Ok so I think i've just answered my own question:
"Unable to Create link: Assets of Type "design" cannot be "NOTICE" linked to a "page_rss_feed" "
/cry.
Looks like its not possible to apply a design to an RSS feed - at least in 3.10… are there any plans for this to be possible in the future?
If I was to do this under 3.10 I don't see how it would not be possible, but I'd have to write out my RSS the long way using a design to generate the feed rather than using the RSS asset… which kinda defeats the purpose when I'm planning to build something nice and simple that staff can add to.
The RSS Feed ignores designs, so you cant add any content to the RSS page, including an XSLT stylesheet, via designs or paint layouts.
There are no plans to add this functionality as it has not been requested. Would be a great feature if you'd like to fund it

Hehe. Well I dont think i have funding - but i'd certainly like to make it a feature request for future versions.
