Alphabetising folders of assets

Hi,

 

We are on 5.0.2.

 

Is there any way to sort assets within _admin and the asset finder? We have alot of assets and because they are sorted by the order in which they were created, it does not make it easy for our authors to find them. This results in authors duplicating assets by mistake.

 

If there is any way to do this we would really appreciate it.

By the way, I am aware of the Asset Sorting tool but we need something that affects assets in child folders and doesn't need to be run by hand.

 

If anyone has tackled this I would be interested to know how they did it.

No, no way to currently automate this process. You would need something like a Sort Assets Trigger Action that you could run on the parent folder when an asset is created.

Thanks Nic. That trigger action doesn’t exist right now, does it? You mean it would need to be developed?

Correct, I was just throwing out the idea of what would be needed.
