An Asset listing question

Hi team!
I was hoping someone could tell me the best way to do this, I’m a little rusty today.

I have a directory that contains a number of folders, there are pdf documents inside each of these folders.

I have created an asset listing which displays a list of these folders. So far so good. This asset listing is set to only show ‘folders’ as I am pulling in a number of metadata fields associated to each folder.

Now this is where it gets tricky. I would also like to list the children (documents) that live inside these folders. What is the best way to go about this? I have attached an image that hopefully helps show what I’m trying to achieve.

In a nutshell, I’m trying to make an asset listing that shows metadata fields of the parent folder, as well as the contents of that folder (pdf documents).

Thanks so much for your help!

Hi John,

You need to look into the Asset Grouping for your asset listing, the manual explains it quite well:
https://matrix.squiz.net/manuals/asset-listing/chapters/asset-grouping-screen

In your Group Type Format (once grouping is enabled) you would print the metadata value and in the default type format print the keyword for the PDF’s
