Archiving users that have assets in workflow

Hi

 

We have just setup ldap users in matrix, and would like to start using the ldap users...  we have a number of existing simple edit users we would like to change the status to "archive", so editors would begin to use the ldap user accounts.  The problem is there are quite a few pages in workflow for the existing simple edit users.

 

If we archived these simple edit users, what effect would this have on assets that the simple edit user has changed the status to:

 

- pending approval

- safe editing

- approved to go live

I don't think that should be an issue, the workflow simply is waiting for those users to approve or reject the changes. Is the workflow steps specifically tied to that user ID or the user group they are in? If its user group it should be easy, but if its tied to the user directly and they are the only approver, just means that the changes on that page can never go live unless it gets cancelled, changed to Safe Edit again, and then brought into workflow with a different approver.
