Asset listing - File Format overides Default Format

#1

Is it normal for an asset listing page to ignore the 'Default Format' when a 'File Format' is used on an asset listing? Perhaps I wrongly assuming that the 'File Format' should only be applicable to assets that have been uploaded as a File asset type.

Any help to clarify most appreciated.

The asset listing will use the most specific type format available. The default format is just that, something that it defaults to if nothing more specific to the asset type is found. The file format is a little special, it will include file assets and anything that inherits from them (eg, word_doc, excel_doc and so on).

What asset type did you have set in the details screen of your asset listing?

Thanks Anthony, thought that might be the case. But had to ask in the hope there was some system tweak I could make.

In the asset details screen I have word, excel, ppt, pdf and file asset types. I was hoping the File Format would only apply to the file asset types (eg SWFs in this case) and the Defualt Format would pickup the rest.
