Asset Listing, Selecting root node by folder name

#1

Hi All,

I am trying to make this asset listing work, but its not working. Hope someone can shed some light on it.

So here is my tree structure ...

What I am trying to do is show the pages listed under folder "Offers" using an Asset Listing. Please note that the offers are different for each page (Page 1 has different offers, Page 2 has different offers and so on).

I have tried a nested listing using the technique listed here

But I am only getting back the folder name, not the pages listed under it. Probably because I used "Asset Types to List" as Folder in my the Parent asset listing. I am unable to find a way for the child asset listing to search inside the folder returned by Parent Listing.

I can easily use "link values" to achieve this but I am looking for way without using link values or tags.

    Any help is very appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Paul,

Are you sure you are nesting the 2nd asset listing into the Default Format of the 1st Asset Listing.

Having the parent listings Asset Type set to Folder should not be an issue.

Can you provide more details about the Dynamic Root node you have set up in the 2nd listing, is it just the same as the manuals?

Also the asset listing is nested in another page. Hope that doesn't make any difference...!

Have you set the root node for the 2nd asset listing to the parent of Page 1, Page 2, Page 3?

Yes, I did. Root node for the 2nd asset listing is the PARENT of Page 1, Page 2, Page 3.
