Asset Report missing Asset Types to List

(Douglas (@finnatic at @waikato)) #1

I’m working with Matrix v5.3.2.1 and trying to adjust an Asset Report to only show the Asset types I want to see.

The manuals indicate that in the ‘Details’ section I should see:

“Asset Types to List: select which Asset Types you want to include in the Report.”

however that’s not showing for the Asset Statuses Reports I’m working with…

Is that information from https://matrix.squiz.net/manuals/reports/chapters/generic-report-asset-functionality?

The key line is unfortunately Not all functionality listed here is available to all reports - the options presented on the Details screen for each report type aren’t consistent.

You could try using a Structured Asset Report instead. You can’t restrict the report to certain statuses (i.e. only list Under Construction), and you can’t set a specific date range so it might be a bit of a nightmare if you’re working with a lot of assets, but you can configure it to report the status of all assets of a specific type in a certain root node(s) so it might work for you.

Correct what Jason said, the status report doesn’t seem to have that option. Not all Report types were created with the same options, not sure why.

I have made that line a proper note now so it’s more clear, but also submitted a new feature request to make all report asset types consistent in their generic functionality.

You could alternatively also create an asset listing and create a custom report using that as a workaround.

Asset Listing for now will work fine as a work around, and vote cast on that squiz map request  (yay! more votes!)
