I'm looking into the possibility of using the 'asset to send' option with a send email trigger action on a 'send emails when there's a new asset' type trigger.
Trigger is working nicely - but I'm finding that %asset_ keywords are using the sent asset's details not the original triggering asset.
Is there something I'm missing - with the 'asset to send' option can you use keywords to add details of the triggering asset?
Have you tried using %globals_asset_% keywords?
Can you give us more information (and screenshots) of the example you are trying to set up?

I'm finishing setup of a mechanism prototyped with Squiz NZ last year to send emails when new assets are published (made live). It's using triggers to send emails when assets are made live, with one trigger per 'category' (another metadata select field implementation).
Each trigger would be using the same message, so I was trying to see if the 'asset to send' option would be an option rather than having to maintain the body content across multiple triggers.
Hmmm, weird. Maybe lodge a support ticket with the Squiz NZ crew and see if they can help you further, might be another way to do it based on the full implementation.
