Hi Tim,

As far as I can remember, there is no built-in spell checker in the Edit+ WYSIWYG editor.

We do, however, enable the HTML5 spellcheck attribute (which works in IE10 and recent versions of Firefox, Chrome and Safari), which uses your browser's spell-check features to "check as you type":

  • In Firefox, the "Check spelling as you type" option is under Advanced > General, but you also need to install a dictionary for it to work (I believe). Dictionaries are available from the Add-ons section of the browser (or, right-click on a text box and click "Add Dictionaries" is also a shortcut).
  • Safari uses OS X's system spell checker, for which you can set up the correct language in the "Language and Text" pane of System Preferences.
  • Chrome on Windows and Linux places it under the Languages section of the Chrome settings page (in the advanced settings). Chrome/Mac uses OS X's spell checker, so "as for Safari".
  • IE 10's dictionary downloading is through its "Manage Add-ons" option.

There has been a little discussion about what to do about spell-check IE9 and earlier in our Squizmap (https://squizmap.squiz.net/ees/3928), so you may want to follow that for further updates.

I got a good response from Scott Hall about EES+ and spell check - have a look at http://forums.squizsuite.net/index.php?showtopic=9672&p=47129

I get a login screen for that link. Is that something only certain Squiz subscribers or staff have access to?

Client can access Squizmap using their extranet details. If you are a client and don't have an extranet account, contact your account manager for access.
