Bulk File Import - Local File

(Tbaatar) #1

Hi,

I just noticed there is 2 option for Bulk File Import; Server File Import and Local File Import.

I know how to get the Server File Import setup, however for the Local File Import it gives me the following message:

Local File Import Local File Import can not be used since the Web Server does not have write permission on home/user/.

I have given permission of 777 to the /user foler but it does not seem to work.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

You need to make sure it has permissions for the Apache user as well.

Um, no I don't think you can. I think you can only do a chmod not a chown.

Is there a way to upload zipped file and auto extract the images? I seem to remeber this hack was posted by someone before. I know i can utilise your jquery multiple file uploader but i just wanna dump 30+ images in one go.

You said Server File Import works for you. You should just be able to SFTP the images there then upload. That is what I always do.

I think you were talking about using a Design to untar a file. It is kind of hacky, but possible.

Yes, I could do the File Import, its a last resort option because I have to open up cyber duck and upload file. It would be good to have local matrix solution.

Yeah, but the local file import is slow. You have to add each tile individually.
