Bulk update of published dates

Is there a way (perhaps via webservice or xml import) of bulk updating the Last published date for assets? We have cloned approx. 50 news items out of one site into another and the published dates were not cloned, so we have to update them all. Just wondering if there is a way of doing it other than manually via the Settings screen.

Yes. You could setup a trigger to do this using the Set Standard Asset Date action. For the event use Payment Completed or another trigger that your system doesn’t use and then use the Batching feature of the Trigger Manager to run the batch to update the dates.
