Calendar sorting

Hi,

 

I don't think this is possible but thought I would ask anyway.

 

Is there a way to sort the calendar month view by metadata rather than date?

 

The reason I ask is that I would like to have featured events at the top for each month.

 

The only way I could think of doing this was to use the normal asset listing with grouping and sorting, rather than the calendar... would that be right? (However, then you lose some of the calendar features such as previous/next month).

 

Any suggestions for the best way to do this would be much appreciated.

No, that isn't supported. But, you could just use a Calendar Page, then also nest in an Asset Listing that lists those featured events in addition to the calendar. Would this work for you?

Hmm thanks Nic... I can see that would work if I wanted to show the same featured events for every month, however I need to display different featured events for each month. i.e. when you click Next month on the calendar page, it would load the featured events for that month followed by the rest of the events...

 

I will have a play and see, maybe there is a way of only showing the current month in the featured asset listing..

If those features events are in a different root node, you could nested another Calendar Page into the first, and change the root node for those features events. Then, once nested it should also update when you change months.
