Calendar Sync to Outlook

Has anyone worked out how/if a user can sync squiz calendar event into their own local outlook calendar?

Outlook doesn't support remote syncing to online calendars. You can do this with iCal or Mozilla Thunderbird (i.e. any iCal-compliant calendar application).

I think this is due to the fact that Outlook sucks. :)

Ok, I am kidding, but really, too bad this is not possible, as many people on our campus use Outlook.

Outlook supports syncing with google calendar.

Do you need to load Google software for this? If not, please could you detail how you get this to work, so we can investigate.

Is this what you mean?

This works OK. I think it works better if you have google gears installed locally.

Unfortunately that uses third-party software (provided by Google) to sync Google Calendars with Outlook.

Outlook itself can’t sync calendars in this way.

Though, I wonder if you could subscribe to a calendar in Google (which does support iCal) and then sync it to Outlook with Google's sync tool.
