Can one load an easy edit wysiwyg box via the api

Most of out editors use edit+ but for reasons that need not concern us here we are displaying (for a subset of users deemed incapable of handling edit+ :-) ) a form from metadata fields and using the matrix api to set those metadata fields with changes on submit of the form.  Currently we are using TinyMCE to get wysiwyg editors for each field but it occurred to me to ask is there any way we could just use the old easy edit boxes to do it?

No, you can't use the Edit+ editor outside of /_edit. I think your best bet it to train, or force those users to use Edit+.

Thanks Nic.  Unfortunately that isn't going to happen with our academics.  It's ok we have a working prototype using TinyMCE - I was just hoping that we could have used something already it Squiz :-)
