Can't edit new page content in Firfox

Hi im using Firefox 1.5.01 to maintain MySource Matrix 3.6.1 sites.
I notice that I could create a page, but not enter any content in the WYSIWYG editor.

However when logging in via IE and then inserting content into the page - then switing back using Firefox I could edit the entered content.

Any idea why I cant enter content from scratch using Firefox?

cheers,

Kenny K

Use the Green icon to expose the WYSIWYG editor first, then place the cursor in Firefox right at the top-left hand corner of the edit window. Firefox seems to have a much smaller “area” to click in to get the editing cursor to appear.

I've found that sometimes you need to click twice. This didn't seem to be a problem in earlier versions…?

I usually find with Firefox its because it hasn’t switched to the editing cursor – as I said, the zone for editing in Firefox seems much smaller than IE, so its sometimes harder to target.

If you want to keep using FireFox over IE (which are many users nowadays) download the following extension:
https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=1419&application=firefox

Downside is that FireFox tend to crash at times and use quite a lot of resources running this tab. I usually use IE for matrix development but would hope that it became more stable in FireFox.

Hope this helps!

If there is anything in particular about editing in Firefox that is unstable, please let us know. Almost all the developers and implementers at Squiz use Firefox as their primary browser and we do almost all our editing in Firefox.
