Compare content with previous versions

(Jennifer Weiley) #1

We’re starting to provide subject experts with edit plus access and wondering how we can track the changes as part of our governance practices.

I know you can roll back to previous versions in the asset history, but is there a way to compare the current published version with previous published versions? I’m looking for some kind of tracked changes feature.

When previewing an asset in safe edit there is a “Compare to Live” button in the toolbar:

That will highlight new text in green and removed text in red with strike through when enabled e.g:

Brilliant. Thanks so much @dschoen.

As per David’s post there’s the ability when an edit is in safe-edit to preview the changes and see the differences from the live page / asset.

In terms of comparing the current version against previously published versions, I don’t think there’s anything. That’s more wiki change review functionality that Matrix doesn’t have AFAIK.

We are now using the preview / compare function and it is making such a difference. Thanks again @dschoen and @Douglas.
