I am trying to make things as easy as possible for my users by automatically making files and images live when they are created. I have done this by using a trigger. However, this has had the effect of causing the asset to be created with no uploaded file or image when using the easy edit suite.
It seems that the asset creation process consists of the asset being created and then the file for the asset uploaded. The trigger is triggered upon asset creation, meaning that the system is trying to change the status of the asset at the same time as it is trying upload the file, with the effect that the file does not get uploaded, leaving me with a file asset with no file. (At least that is how I have interpreted things.)
There doesn't appear to be any trigger event that I could use for the trigger that won't disrupt the file upload. I have tried 'asset created', 'before asset created' and 'asset updated' but the effect is the same.
Does anyone have any suggestions for how I could set things up so that files and images are created live using the easy edit suite? Is there a trigger event that would avoid this problem? Is there something about the easy edit suite that I am not getting?
Thanks.
