Custom Form sub-Form Sections in Safe Edit mode

Hello. We've recently upgraded from Matrix v4.14.1 to v5.2.8.0. In the previous version we could put a Custom Form asset under Safe Edit mode and make changes. What appears to be happening in v5.2.8.0 is that, in Safe Edit mode, response values to questions* under sub-Form Sections are not appearing when viewing the form on the front end as a non-admin user.

 

Questions that appear directly under a top-level Section are unaffected.

 

Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong? Any advice appreciated!

 

*I'm looking at a submission that is already in the system, rather than starting a new submission.

Are you saying that when you view existing form submission assets on the front end using the custom form, as in you return to the submission to keep filling it out, that's when the new form fields in Safe Edit don't appear if you are logged in as a user with write access to the form?

Hi Bart. Sorry, I missed your reply. It’s responses to existing questions that are not appearing when you try to amend an existing submission as a non-admin user. It means I need to take the whole form offline (to Under Construction status) to add new fields and make significant amendments.
