Deleting linked assets

(Nicky Burton) #1

I have two sites that are linked (eg same asset numbers), when I go to delete a page from one of these linked assets it is deleting the linked asset from the other site, the normal behaviour as noted in the linking an asset manual is that "deleting one of these linked assets will not delete the other asset" - has anyone else had this issue as we are wondering if it might be a bug.

Is the asset you are deleting the linked asset? or is any of it's higher level parents the actual linked assets?

Child assets of the linked asset aren't really linked in two places. So, you delete it in once place, it will be gone in another.

So say you have asset ID 42 which you manually link in two places. That asset does have two links, and if you deleted one, it would not delete the other. BUT, if you delete a child asset of ID 42, it WOULD delete that asset from both locations, because that asset is only a child and does not have two links.

Exactly my point but this explanation was a lot better :)
