Are Design Comments (e.g. ) only supported in Design Assets?

Assuming you are talking about:

If so, then they also work in content containers in things like paint layouts and asset listing type formats.

Yes, I missed that the original post lost the comment I tried to include.

We have a comment I wasn’t able to track down (I’ve since found it) and I wondered what would happen if you had a nested content area, where it was in turn nesting a standard page with template html (etc).

Assuming that standard pages have content containers, then that answers the question.
