Design not appearing on frontend

Hi,

I have just created another site and applied the URL. I have also applied the design and created a series of standard pages under the new site.

However the design is not appearing on the frontend when I attempt to preview a page. I have checked the System Defined Frontend Design area in the Settings and it is pointing to the correct asset.

The designs and site asset are live, and the pages are under construction (but that shouldnt make a difference anyway).

I have probably missed something very obvious but I cant figure it out!

Thanks.

Have you assigned an appropriate URL to the designs folder? (and media folder if applicable)

of course! i had completely forgotten about that !
much thanks.

After assigning the URL to the designs folder, the design is now appearing on the frontend. However I have noticed that one aspect of our design is not appearing in Site B.

We have set up a column on the right called "Related links". This displays redirect assets using Type 2 links (if there are any, otherwise it's a blank column). The system defined frontend design asset is exactly the same for both Site A and B in the Settings, yet these "Related links" fail to turn up in the new site's design.

However - and here is the weird part - if I create a "new link" of a page from Site A to B, and preview the linked page using Site B's URL, the correct design appears including the "Related links" column!

I have checked the URL and it is correctly applied to the designs folder and to all of the designs and below it.

Any ideas what I should try next??

Are you using a "Replacement root node" for the asset listing? If so, you need to make sure both Site A and Site B are set as root nodes.

It's often easier to put all your sites in one folder (eg. "Public sites"), so you can use this folder as the root node in these cases, rather than having to update the list of root nodes every time you add a new site.

It worked! Thank you very much for your help.
