Hey guys,
You know the average run of the mill %asset_metadata_name% keyword to print metadata of the asset? Well, has something changed in 3.18.8 which disallows this? No idea why it's not working - done this 100s of times.
Nothing has changed. Where are you trying to display it and have you tried globals_asset_metadata_name?
Right - this shows up fine when I display into a container inside the Matrix body, but doesn't display when issued in the parse file (like it used to)? Any ideas?
Even weirder - have a look at the active state for the home link where metadata is being applied.
http://www.coventgardenapartment.com/ - Does not work
http://www.coventgardenapartment.com/ - Works
But they are the same page. One is referenced as the index page.

You are using metadata for adding the current class? I am just curious why you didn’t choose to use the menu design area which would do the same thing.
You are using a globals keyword for the metadata?
Nic, no reason. Just found metadata quicker and less cumbersome - it's the lightweight option when there is more than a simple active class to add. I'm really confused about this situation. I've been working on it all day and I can't resolve it - nor can I see what could cause it!
This sounds like a job for.....Squiz Support!!!!
Yeah - I think so too.
Submitted. Thanks for the help.
Here's the answer from Support:
Hi Duncan,
Can you have a look to http://www.coventgardenapartment.com/home/_nocache?
I have replace
<li><a href=“http://www.coventgardenapartment.com/information”
%asset_metadata_active1%>Information</a></li>
for
<li><a href=“http://www.coventgardenapartment.com/”
%globals_asset_metadata_active1% >Home</a></li>
And it is working. I think it is working with %asset_metadata_active1% too, isn’t it?
Why is it working in the home page and not in the site page?
-http://www.coventgardenapartment.com/home/_nocache – Has the metadata schema applied.
-http://www.coventgardenapartment.com – doesn’t have the metadata schema applied.
You need to apply the metadata to the site too.
Is that what you are after?
BTW: Actually, It is a good idea to add classes to the active pages without using javascript. Also you can approach this using mysource_area tags for the menu.
So, make sure you cascade Metadata on your website asset too. It seems like the only active pare of your web root is the body contents. The rest is printed on the website asset in 3.18.8. Interesting.
