Edit+ 1.5.0 hyperlinking not activating save button

#1

Hi guys,

We have noticed with Internet Explorer version 11 (run on windows 7) that when you create a hyperlink the viper editor will allow you to update changes - but won’t allow you to save (save button is not activated)

Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi Fuzzi, probably some function in Viper that doesn't take IE11 into consideration. IE11 is not supported in Edit+ 1.5.0 so you might need to add a custom JS plugin workaround somehow, use a different browser, or upgrade to Matrix 5.

Hey Bart,

I just found this patch in the old bug tracker http://bugs.matrix.squiz.net/view_bug.php?bug_id=6745

it looks like it's fixed for 4.18.2 (not 4.18.0)

Could any of the Squiz labs team comment if this is worth getting patched for our version.  I have just lodged a support ticket also.

We would really like all our users to be using IE 11 and this is the only thing that sticks out for us.

cheers

Bobbie

Hi Fuzzi, that patch is for a fix to the linking screen, not hyperlinking text in a WYSIWYG using Viper. So it won't help you I'm afraid. We'll have a look at the support ticket to see if there is an easy work around that we might be able to do for this issue.

oh wow! I got caught up on my own advice  I provide to our users - "the Linking screen is not to be confused with Hyper linking" looking at this too late at night I think.  Please let us know how you go we are keen to get a fix.
