Edit+ creating images and a Asset Created Trigger Event not working

We have a trigger setup to create an image variety for any image that is created under a specific site. However, when a user creates an image using Edit+, that event is never Triggered.

 

Am I right to assume that Edit+ doesn't not trigger that event?

Most of our users create images via Edit+ and varieties are successfully created, from memory all you had to do was ensure Simple Edit Accessed was selected as an event, but the manual suggests you'll also need to create a URL Matches condition where file_create=true must be in the URL.

This is a common "gotcha"! To create image varieties whilst using _admin and _edit you will require two separate triggers.
