Edit+ loading within admin

#1

Hi guys,

4.18.0 (matrix)

One of our team members witnessed one of our users access edit+ ( version 1.5.0) but it loaded within the admin interface.

You could see the admin asset map!

It happened in all browsers for the user.

Has anyone else encountered this? Or could explain why this is occuring?

We have checked the users group preferences.

All our users are LDAP users. We have removed from groups and re added and are going to see if that helps.

Cookies and sessions were cleared as well

So can you see the whole Admin interface on Edit+ or just the assetmap?

Is the 'Hide Frames' setting on the Edit+ design turned off?

Hi ash you can see all the admin interface.
Didn’t think about the hide frames setting on edit+ design.

Will check it out.

Agree with Ash, sounds like what I see when I'm not hiding frames in the design.  However, if this was the case then it would be the same for all users, not just one.

Hey fuzz, find the design parse files being used for the site in question and as per installation steps in the manuals, check the following.
Acquire the lock(s) on the Details screen. Locate the Details section of the screen and in the No Frames in Simple Edit Interface field, select Yes.

If it’s not set to Yes then you might get the admin toolbars including the purple side bar that allows you to see the asset map.

Cheers

Scotty.

Thank you fuzzi81 for asking the forum - Scott the install manuals yes that's a great start: http://manuals.matrix.squizsuite.net/ees/chapters/installation#Adding-the-Easy-Edit-Suite-to-your-Designs-Parse-File

That's it! :D

They had No frames in Simple Edit Interface set to No on their design files - Great suggestion!

Actually, they need to set that on all their other designs by the looks of it, I'll fix this one and let them know - thanks again for the quick troubleshooting!

Just to check:

Is anyone aware of any load issues with manually reparsing the file?

Or once this setting is adjusted will the changes organically filter down to the assets that use it in time?

I just /_recache 'd a live page and accessed it via /_edit, I no longer get a double interface (edit sitting within admin). Instant fix without need to manually reparse file.

So I might have answered my own question about that!
