Editing the 'Running Squiz Matrix' message

Am I right in thinking that it’s not possible to edit the ‘Running Squiz Matrix’ message e.g.

I’m guessing that a simple solution of embedding a custom message in appropriate design parse files on the appropriate systems have led to nobody pursuing any ability customise this from time to time?

Yes, that message is hardcoded - you can’t customise it, only turn it on or off.

You’re probably right that no one’s been interested in such a feature because it’s relatively easy to add your own custom comment in a sitewide design. I’ve seen clients adding their own custom comments before, but don’t recall anyone ever wanting to customise the default message.

I’m thinking of burying some details about specific server details into our designs, and initially thought of editing the attribution message but will now look to do something separate.
