EES/EES+ locating links to a page prior to being able to delete

(Neil Newman) #1

We are currently upgrading from Squiz 4.x to 5.x and during the testing phase of the EES+ product, I found that I was unable to delete a page, and the following message was displayed:

Warning (safe Trash Enabled)

The asset cannot be deleted due to one or more safe Trash rules being satisfied

* The asset is NOTICE linked to another asset.

* The asset is Live.

I cannot find any way of locating links to this page from within the EES+ interface, when I use the backend interface (_admin) they are easily identified, is there a way for our end users to locate the links into a page that they wish to delete via the EES+ interface?

The only dependencies you can see is through the linking screen in Edit+ - but this will only show you if a asset is (linked) not hyperlinked in your site. The linking screen obviously in admin is different that it will pick up every instance if the ID in the system. Maybe that could be a feature to suggest for Edit+ to have better safe trash warnings.

I thought Notice links would show up on the linking screen in Edit+ as well, if they don't, I'm sure it would be easy to add in. Sounds like it makes sense to expose that info if we are posting errors about it in the same interface. Can you confirm that NOTICE links are not visible on the linking screen in Edit+ but they are in admin?
