Embedding MP4 Video

Hi


I'm trying to embed a video file using the 'embed movie' WYSIWYG tool. I uploaded my file (which a a 25MB MP4) but when I get the 'embed movie' pop-up window and try to browse to the asset, the file is not selectable. Have I missed something? Is it a compatible file format?

The asset must be of type 'Video File'. So when you add the new file type, you need to select this as the type to create. This asset supports MP4 movie formats.


If you've already uploaded the video as a 'File' asset type, you may be able to morph the asset into another file type on the settings screen. I'm not entirely sure whether morphing to Video File asset is supported, I don't have a suitably sized video to put on my test system. Trial and error should show you if you are able to morph it, or whether you may have to re-upload it as the correct asset type.

Actually, the Insert Movie plugin allows any File asset type to be selected, although it doesn't work for all types of movies. I don't know why it wouldn't allow you to select the file you have uploaded. What asset type is it?

Has this always been the case? We had the same issue where the asset was not selectable, although I think the system wasn't the latest version.

Yes, this has always been the case. The Movie asset is quite new.

I've just double checked and the asset type is definitely 'Video File'. We're on version 3.22.2 if that helps. Still having same issue.

Can you just add the code in for embedding a video file?

I had just installed MySource Matrix and am having the same problem, the video assets are not selectable when adding content.


Debian 5, php5, apache2 and MySource Matrix 3.24

Tried it with a mp4 file and a wmv file



If i set the asset type to file it is selectable but does not play. But when i set it back to video it is not selectable.
