File Permissions for Automatic Upgrade

I'm having difficulty with the Automatic Upgrade script. I think that the underlying file permissions are at fault.


The Linux server which I run Matrix 3.28.7 on is managed by a SysAdmin. My Linux login is part of a group (mplsinfo) which has restricted permsissions. During the upgrade the matrix directory is moved and then recreated. The permissions are not properly inherited during this process so I can't complete the upgrade.



Can somebody please tell me how to set the permissions of the various directories - particularly the parent - so that they are operational?



assume directory structure

/home/department/matrix for matrix home

/home/person/automatic_upgrades for the directory containing the scripts
