Hi,
I thought that I would be able to toggle some very precise options in the Wysiwyg, such as remove the Underline button but leave the Bold and Italics button. Now that I look into it in more details, I realise that the options above as well as replace text and strike are all part of the one plugin 'Format Text'.
Is there a way to set the Wysiwyg preference in more details?
Not at the moment, no. The WYSIWYG preferences are based on plugins to the editor, and you have the option of enabling or disabling plugins globally or by user group.

I’ve following question on this.
Have Squiz any further plans on upgrading the WYSIWYG editor? Today there’s problems with the quality och the generated HTML.
I’ve been working with: http://tinymce.moxiecode.com in some projects and I can tell its really powerful. On their web page they have guides how to incorporate the editor with several other open-source cms tools.
It would be great if it was possible with MSM as well.
I'll have to let Greg answer this one. 
We have actually embeded tinymce into Matrix already (and a few others for testing), but we havn't written the Matrix specific plugins for it (insert image/movie etc). We will probably look to migrating to another editor in the future, but it will require a bit of work to rewrite some of our plugins and we have other dev we are working on at the moment.
There are no plans to migrate to tinymce yet, so don't look for that in 3.8. Maybe 3.10…
