I've been doing bunch of search and replace for single character replacement. Most times it is working fine however when it comes to Asset listing it fails to replace the character.
Is there any reason why it will fail with asset listing and not with standard page, metadata, custom form? and are there any specific asset types that will fail with global search and replace?

Not sure, might be a bug that needs fixing.
What bodycopy of the asset listing does it not replace? Page Contents or Type Format?

Sorry for the late reply.
I noticed it with all asset types but it seems to be more persistent with Asset Listing.
The search and replace seems to catch most characters but will always fail for some, and when it does fail to replace it will not replace no matter what. The only way to replace is to actually edit the content. This could be in the metadata, asset name, page content or type format.
The characters that were being replaced is in ASCII format (square icon with numbers inside).
