HIPO job - what's it going to do if restarted?

(Webmaster) #1

Matrix Version: 5.4.5.3

When a job is in HIPO as stalled and we look at whether to delete or restart it, there isn’t much info about what the job is going to do. We have the user and time/date and a basic action (‘create links’). Is there a way to find out before starting/deleting that the user was attempting to “move asset 123456 to trash” or whatever?

eg as per manual screenshots: https://matrix.squiz.net/manuals/concepts/chapters/hipo-herder

Hi,

There currently is no further information available for stalled HIPO jobs in the interface, however if you have database access you can view the raw data in the sq_hipo_job table. Particularly the running_vars column. This is serialised string data so is not overly readable but can provide some indication on what the HIPO is expected to do.

I think that is a great idea to provide human readable information on the HIPO Herder screen, so I will have that added onto the Product Roadmap as an idea.

Thank you
