Hit counter

(Frederic Mottais) #1

Hello all,

Our website is now online and its time to know how many hit our site is doing. I know that is possible to create a trigger that count the number of hit for an asset and I know that is possible to edit a counter report for a list of asset>

The report just report the hit for some type of asset, but I want to know the name of these asset.

I think the trigger "increment the number of hit in the data base " but I dont know how to reach this feature after.

Can someone help me with that ?

Thanks.

My advice is to not use this trigger for a full blown hit count setup. I would use Google Analytics or Woopra for this as the offer very nice Analytics. Also, having a trigger run when EVERY pages is accessed might slow down your site.

We recommend using an external stats package like AWStats and not having the CMS record any stats for you. This limits the load on the DB and gives you a greater number of stat reports.

EDIT: Beaten! Do you ever sleep!?!
